ThisÌýAddressing ImagesÌýwill be based on a 1912 editorial image featuring jewels by French jeweller Georges Fouquet. We will consider jewellery51²è¹Ý¶ù relationship with fashion, taste and time and explore what they reveal about the jeweller and their relationship with the jewels through examining this editorial and a range of further editorial,ÌýpublicityÌýand archival images.Ìý
Claudine Seroussi received her BA from UCL in History of Art and Medieval Archaeology at UCL (1994-1997), an MSc from SOAS (2000-2001) and an MA from the Sotheby51²è¹Ý¶ù Institute/University of Manchester (2010-2011). She has worked as a researcher specialising in French and American jewellery from the inter-war period for the past decade.  Currently, she is a PhD candidate under the supervision of DrÌýRebeccaÌýArnold and is researching how French jewellers defined and legitimised jewellery between 1920-29 through written word, imagery, collaboration, and exhibitions. Ìý
