Zine made during a free Young People51²è¹Ý¶ù Programme workshop exploring Sense of Self, which took place at the Courtauld Gallery in May 2025.
What is a self-portrait? How do artists reveal their identity through self-portraiture? Working together as they explored the Courtauld Gallery, students debated these questions, analysing the similarities and contrasts between Van Gogh51²è¹Ý¶ù Self Portrait with Bandaged Ear and artworks by contemporary artist Rachel Jones, in relation to self-identity. At the end of the day, each created their own Sense of Self response in a variety of media.
