Green Education in Conservation

is an EU-funded project developing sustainable, preventive, and remedial conservation practices. The Courtauld is leading Work Package 7 which targets advancing Green Education in Conservation. Project members have collaborated to devise a pedagogical programme which enables the integration of sustainability into conservation and conservation science education and practice.

The programme modules address distinct challenges and sustainable practices across four core themes:
• Leadership in green conservation
• Determining material sensitivities and green decision-making
• Green treatments and their assessment for paintings
• Green treatments and their assessment for objects

The programme51²è¹Ý¶ù thematic structure allows for focused instruction and practical application, supporting the smooth integration of the modules into educational curricula and professional development schemes. Each module is presented through a range of accessible and adaptable session templates, divided into themed blocks with suggested content, assessments, and activities.
